If we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.

This blog was created to document my journey through the Paleo lifestyle. I began following a ketogenic, low carb diet in July 2011. At the same time I was reading everything I could find on nutrition and metabolism, and all the various permutations of low carb eating. During this time, I started gravitating towards the Paleo movement. On August 15th, I began the 30 Day Paleo Challenge.
The more information I found on the Paleo movement and the science behind it, the more fascinated I became. I have a tendency to become very focused on topics that I am interested in (let’s just let it be known here and now that I am a nerd). The downside to this is that the majority of people that I come into contact with have absolutely no interest in topics that I find interesting. They don’t want to converse on the minutia of fat metabolism. Their eyes glaze over when I speak to them about the fascinating interconnections I am discovering every day.
The Man of the House (TMOTH) has learned to live with (and I think appreciate) my passion for learning and my engagement with new topics. TMOTH understands my need to communicate the information with others and to pursue more in depth knowledge of topics that have captured my interest. He suggested that I start this blog. Admittedly, this may have been a calculated defensive move on his part. If I have an outlet to use to discuss the Paleo movement and all the things about it that I am learning, he will not have to participate as often. 😀
One thing that I hope to provide with this blog is the perspective of a post-menopausal woman embarking on a Paleo lifestyle. I have not yet found a lot of material from this perspective. I am starting to see some changes in my physique, but will Paleo be able to vanquish the dreaded menopot or batwing arms? That remains to be seen. Stay tuned as I document my journey, review books, and share some recipes.

Great start! I can’t wait to read more!- Rosemarie
Thanks!!!! I’m still trying to figure out all the bells & whistles. 🙂
